What do you think?

Product reviews, personal anecdotes, wishlists… I’ve realized that all I really use this blog for is my life.

Not saying that it’s a bad thing. But, what if I were to start interjecting different styles of writing here and there? Small fictional stories, poems, monologues, etc? I don’t have a lot of experience with that writing style, but I’d love to just give it a shot.

So, what do you think? Maybe it’ll break up the monotony of another “What’s up with me?” post. Just a thought.

I want to express myself. But, I also don’t want to share too much in the event that someone would take my work and use it as their own. But, I guess that’s always a possibility no matter what you put out there in the ether isn’t it?

Anyway, I might give it a shot. We’ll see. If it doesn’t go over well, at least I tried.

Thanks for letting me run these ideas by you. You are the reader, after all.

Until next time! ❤

Here I go again. It’s the first of the month and I am posting online with the intention of this post being the motivator for me to actually commit to and complete a monthly challenge.

While most people are going to be doing BEDA/VEDA, let’s be honest, you know I cannot commit to anything even close to that. Between moving to a new apartment, working 50hr weeks, and trying to find a different job, let’s just say my “free” time is minimal at best.

So, without further ado, I am launching my own version of “Blog Everyday in April,” which I was call “BEWA” for “Blog Every Week in April.” So, here I am, hoping to commit to at *least* one blog post for all four weeks of April. Four posts in a month used to be nothing at all for me, and I miss it. So, I’m going to try to start scheduling time to write a post instead of spending countless hours playing my two new favorite phone apps: Disney’s Magic Kingdoms and Miitomo. (My name is Kacie and I am addicted to these cute little things!)

So, to the maybe one of you who might be reading this, I’d like to ask you what you’d like to see from me? I hope to highlight some new cruelty-free products I’ve been trying out that are actually not beauty related. Since we’ve just moved this week, I’ve been buying CF cleaning supplies, which I am loving. I also want to talk about a few tips and tricks we learned while moving, but who knows? Maybe that’s interesting, maybe it’s incredibly boring and you want to tell me, “No way will anyone at all be interested in that.”

Either way, let me know, and thank you if you’ve stuck around this long. You are very much appreciated.

Until next time! ❤

P.S. Here is a picture of me with our beautiful cat, Selina! I don’t think I’ve introduced her to you yet. Maybe I’ll share her “gotcha” story with you as well!

P.S.S. OH! Right! Anyone know a good designer who might want to help me out with designing my WordPress layout? I’d love to work with them!

I’m a Crock Addict

Ha. Ha. Ha… It was funny, right?

So, one of my favorite Christmas gifts I got this year was my lovely Crock Pot. (Click for the exact model.)

2016-02-03 12.52.45

(Thanks, Dad!)

Ever since I got it, it has made cooking *so much easier!* My boyfriend and I got into the bad habit of buying those frozen single serving meals and eating those at work and finally, one day, I think my body was just like, “Hey! Enough of that garbage! Give me real food!” So, in an effort to eat less of the processed cheap stuff, I’ve been cooking meals at least once a week in this baby and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon!

As one could imagine, this has resulted in me spending a lot of time on Pinterest, looking up recipes that not only would be healthier alternatives to food I already love, but also food that my picky boyfriend would eat. 😉 (Love you, Eddy!)

So, I’m here to share with you some of my favorites that we’ve made so far.

Crock Pot Ranch Chicken Dinner – MomsWithCrockPots

This recipe is not only the easiest of everything I’ve made, but it’s also been both of our favorites! In fact, I just put it in for dinner tonight/leftovers for work. Oh, and I *always* buy the “No Sodium Added” versions of canned veggies because, holy moly, they can be so filled with sodium! I’m talking 300mg+ for JUST ONE CAN! Ugh.

2016-02-03 12.52.36

(I seriously took this picture while writing this blog post. Talk about breaking news, huh?)

This time, however, I substituted one of the two cans of green beans for corn, and left out the bacon. So simple, yet so delicious. I highly recommend it.

Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan and Pasta – TheMagicalSlowCooker

(Above picture from Sarah at TheMagicalSlowCooker)

Ok, so maybe this one isn’t *as* healthy, but boy was it delicious. Just like the last recipe, I always go with ingredients that have less saturated fat and less sodium than what the recipe suggests, so they’ll taste a little different, but they’re so delicious. For example, this recipe calls for a specific flavor of Ragu that had over 500mg of sodium in the can. I wasn’t comfortable with that, so Eddy and I bought a plain tomato sauce and seasoned it ourselves. Dee-licious! We also changed it up and got whole grain pasta and a lower fat cheese. Hey, every little big helps, right?

I’ve also tried making a chili which wasn’t as spicy as I normally like it, but I need to adjust the recipe because it was *way* too watery for my taste. This Texas girl loves her chili. The flavors were all very good, though, and Eddy and I both basically inhaled that back when it was “cold” for a few days here in Florida.  (Click for the recipe from Chelsea at LifeWithMyLittles.com)

The next things I want to try are going to be breakfast recipes. I used to make a breakfast casserole in the crock pot but I can’t for the life of me find the recipe. So, it’s back to Pinterest I go, I guess. Oh!! And Paleo. I really want to start looking into paleo foods to eat. Ok, I’m inspired now. Time to go pin!

If you’re interested in any of these recipes or some of the others that I want to try, please feel free to follow me on Pinterest. I’m not on the site very often but I do love to share a good find, especially when it comes to yummy food.

I hope you enjoyed this little post about my crock pot cooking, and I would *love* if you would share with me any recipes you might know and love, or think I should try.

Until next time! ❤

Liebster Award Nomination

I am so excited! The lovely DisneyBeautyNerd has nominated me and my blog for a Liebster Award. Thank you so much, Rachel!

Here are the questions she asked, along with my answers:

1.) What is your favorite movie?

It’s always been Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, ever since I was a child. However, I recently saw Saving Mr. Banks and it touched me so much more than I ever thought it would. Being a Disney Cast Member, it has so much meaning and inspiration for me.

2.) What is your biggest fear?

It’s a typical answer, but anything happening to my family. Being so far away from them, it’s always on my mind that I can’t get to them right away should anything happen to one of them.

3.) What makes you the happiest?

Singing, exploring Walt Disney World, a good movie or food with friends.

4.) Who is your favorite musician/artist/band?

I can’t choose one favorite, especially when the majority of what I listen to is either show tunes or film soundtracks. However, I never tire of Pink, Carrie Underwood, Idina Menzel, or Bernadette Peters.

5.) If you could travel to any place in the world where would you go?

I want to explore Europe. I’ve only ever been to London and there is so much more to see!

6.) If you could have one super power what would it be?

Flying. No question about it. I’ve been having Peter Pan dreams since I was a child.

7.) If you could invite anyone to dinner (alive/dead, famous/not famous) who would it be and why?

Walt Disney. I want him to see what the company is like now and get his opinion, hear his stories, and just give him one hug.

8.) What is your dream job?

Performer. I love singing and dancing so anything that would let me do that as a career would be perfect.

9.) Who was your first celebrity crush?

Nick Carter and Orlando Bloom … Ah, the good ‘ol days.

10.) Why did you start blogging?

I love reading blogs and I enjoy documenting things so that I can look back on them later. I used to journal as a kid and I feel like nowadays, blogs are almost like journals, but for everyone to read instead of just yourself, haha!

In return, I would love to nominate these fantastic bloggers:

Here are the questions I have for them:

1. Where would you love to have a vacation home?
2. What’s your favorite color combination?
3. What is one of your guilty pleasures?
4. Whose style do you wish you could copy?
5. What do you do when you aren’t blogging?
6. What’s your current favorite TV show?
7. What was your favorite game as a child?
8. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
9. Which season is your favorite?
10. What book could you read over and over without getting tired of it?

Again, thank you so much, Rachel for the nomination. I hope the rest of these ladies enjoy making this post as much as I have! As always, thanks for reading.

Until next time! ❤

New Blog – What to expect

Well, here we go. What is this, my third or fourth attempt at starting a blog? I mean, if you don’t count Tumblr, which I don’t. I got a bit fed up over at Blogspot with the lack of options and the ever-frustrating Google+ accounts that they *force* you to use now with anything that Google owns.

Anyway, I am here now. I have just spent the past hour re-familiarizing myself with WordPress and I must say, I do like everything that I see so far. I am hoping to get more into it and become more used to posting here, as I would really love to keep a regular blog.

As for what I would like to post here… Well, I’d like to call it a personal or lifestyle blog, if I were to have to categorize it. I really enjoy reviewing things like movies, products, theatre, etc. However, I also enjoy documenting life events and sort of journaling, as I really enjoy looking back over how things have changed throughout my life.

For now, I will just leave this intro post here with the hopes that it will be the first of many posts to come.

Thank you for visiting. ❤
