Happy 2nd Anniversary to me!

Today, WordPress notified me that I registered my blog two years ago. Really!? Two years? I had no idea it had been so long.

I’ve probably spent more time not writing than I have writing here, let’s be honest. I enjoy the blogging community a lot. I enjoy my “internet friends,” since I have so many and have been so lucky to be able to meet so many people because of the wonders of the Internet.

I’ve started and closed who knows how many blogs, created and deleted YouTube channels, but I always come back to the community. I’m obviously not a daily v/blogger, but I enjoy participating in communities with people who are.

All sappiness aside, I guess I should update you on my NaNo journey. I can already tell you I’m not going to get very far. Between being sick the first week of November, starting a brand new job on Monday, my birthday on Tuesday, family health being what it is, and my desire to get out and experience the world instead of from behind a screen, let’s just say November hasn’t been the best month so far for writing.

I turned 28 on Tuesday, the 8th. Election day. I was born on election day and this is the first year that my birthday has fallen on it again. I have many feelings about the state of our country as of now, and if you care at all, you’re welcome to follow me on Twitter. I’ve been very vocal about it all there.

I’m not sad about falling behind on NaNoWriMo, though. I am learning new things, meeting new people, and still taking the time to “check out” from the digital world so that I can enjoy time with my family and friends.

I do have some free time today, though, so I’m going to sit down and write some more. It’s therapeutic and is helping me develop a good vocabulary. I’m not sure if I’ll continue the same story I started or start something new. Guess I’ll see how I feel.

How about you? How is your writing going? I’d love to hear from fellow NaNoWriMo participants.

Until next time! ❤

Hi, I’m Kacie. Nice to meet you.

I’ve recently gained some new followers and have made some pretty big life changes since starting this blog, so I thought it might be a good time to reintroduce myself.

I’m Kacie. I’m 27 and I live in Orlando, Florida. I was born and raised in Texas, moved to Minnesota in 2009 to go to university, did an internship at Walt Disney World from 2011-2012, moved back to Minnesota to finish university, and then moved back here to Florida in 2015. *whew*

I studied Theatre and American Sign Language at the University of Minnesota and completely fell in love with the arts scene of the Twin Cities. Honestly, I regret not experiencing more of it while I was there, but I am so thankful for the five years I did spend there.

My passion for Disney started when I wasn’t even a toddler yet. Disney movies were always on at my house, we went to WDW for the first time when I was 10, and I promised my family that I would, “live and work here one day.” Well, here I am. I’ve spent four years working with the Walt Disney Company in various facets all over the country and I have grown so very much. I’m super grateful that I get to work for my dream company and I encourage more people to put themselves out there and explore what you want to do. That could change, of course, but you’ll never know until you try.

I took the pledge to go cruelty-free sometime in 2014, I believe. I did some research on cosmetics tested on animals and I was horrified at what I learned. I then discovered that it’s not only cosmetics, but almost *ANYTHING* that you can purchase at a store has the potential to be tested on animals. So, for two years I’ve done my best to not purchase any cosmetics, household products, clothing, etc. that are tested on animals.

My goal of living a completely cruelty-free life is taking its next steps, as you might be aware of from recent posts. I want to start making sure that I am not only living ethically, but conservatively and with the least amount of impact on our environment as possible. I want to support and live with our Earth, not just on it.

You can find me on other social media like Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, and YouTube, (links in my About Me section) though I’m not as active on YouTube as I used to be. That is a goal of mine, however. In fact, I think it is a good time for me to talk about my goals with this blog and my other social media.

Online Goals:
– Make more Disney posts.
– Make regular YouTube videos again.
– Learn more about web and graphic design.
– “Meet” more bloggers/vloggers with similar interests.
– Learn the more “business side” of social media.

So, with all of this being said, I do appreciate you immensely for reading this. I’m so grateful for the kind words I’ve received here on my blog and other places online as well. I’ve enjoyed this community so much and I cannot wait to, like I said, meet more of you.

I’d love to answer any questions you might have and I will always take post suggestions from anyone who’d like to request anything. Please, just let me know!

As always, and again, thank you so much for stopping by!

Until next time! ❤

I have a confession to make…

… I am now a Snapchat user.

I never thought I’d see the day, and I seriously still don’t think I *get* Snapchat, but I kind of love it at the same time. I do feel weird being a 26-yr old who’s like, “Is this what the kids are doing nowadays?” but it’s just a fun thing for me.

Today I posted a singalong while I was stuck on the highway for almost an hour due to an accident on my way home. (I was not in the accident, it just caused a crazy big backup on the highway.)

I love seeing what people post and sending quick little picture messages to friends. Who knows how long it’ll be “a thing,” but for now, I’m enjoying it. Following the official Disney Snapchat is kind of fun, too. It’s how I found out about one of my other favorite apps: Show Your Disney Side.

If you have a Snapchat or would like to follow along with my silliness, my username is KacieThings. I have also been using it to post snippets of my adventures while I’m in the parks, so if you want to see that, then feel free to add me!

Until next time! ❤
